Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals including feeding, watering, and administering medications as directed by veterinary staff
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas through thorough cleaning and sanitation procedures
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure their comfort and safety as well as yours
- Assist with pet grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and basic hygiene maintenance
- Support pet sitting duties by monitoring pets’ behavior and health during their stay
- Assist veterinary technicians or assistants with animal handling during medical procedures or examinations
- Perform outdoor work such as cleaning outdoor kennels and ensuring secure fencing for animal safety
- Lift heavy items like bags of supplies or large kennels safely through team lifting practices
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners and answering their questions about pet care
Qualifications
- Prior veterinary experience or background as a veterinary technician is highly preferred
- Experience in pet grooming, pet sitting, or animal care roles is advantageous
- Familiarity with dog training techniques and dog handling skills is a plus
- Strong animal handling skills with knowledge of animal restraint methods
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in outdoor or indoor settings
- Excellent cleaning skills with attention to sanitation standards in animal environments
- Outdoor work experience demonstrating resilience and adaptability in various weather conditions
- Exceptional customer service skills to engage positively with pet owners and visitors
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment
