Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the care and well-being of animals in our facility. This position has shifts Monday through Friday 2pm to 6pm. You will work closely with pets and their owners, ensuring a safe, clean, and nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess strong customer service skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding and exercising.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to management.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ needs and behaviors.
- Handle animals safely and compassionately during all interactions.
- Perform heavy lifting when necessary, including moving supplies or larger animals.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of animal care practices and handling techniques.
- Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with pet owners.
- Experience in kennel operations or related fields is preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks related to animal care.
- Familiarity with dog training techniques is a plus.
- Background as a veterinary technician or in veterinary settings is advantageous.
- Proficient in handling various types of animals with care and respect.
- Strong communication skills to effectively relay information to team members and clients.
