Full Time Kennel Technician

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the care and well-being of animals in our facility. This position has shifts Monday to Friday including 2 overnight shifts. You will work closely with pets and their owners, ensuring a safe, clean, and nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care for animals, including feeding and exercising.
• Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment.
• Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to management.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ needs and behaviors.
• Handle animals safely and compassionately during all interactions.
• Perform heavy lifting when necessary, including moving supplies or larger animals.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of animal care practices and handling techniques.
• Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with pet owners.
• Experience in kennel operations or related fields is preferred.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks related to animal care.
• Familiarity with dog training techniques is a plus.
• Background as a veterinary technician or in veterinary settings is advantageous.
• Proficient in handling various types of animals with care and respect.
• Strong communication skills to effectively relay information to team members and clients.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
