The Chaplain will provide compassionate, inclusive support and play a key part in creating a comforting and healing environment for those we serve.
Responsibilities
- Provide timely spiritual care visits to patients and families based on daily assignments and identified needs.
- Communicate the spiritual care services available within the hospital and guide individuals in accessing support.
- Assess and screen the spiritual or emotional needs of patients, families, and staff, offering direct support or coordinating additional resources when appropriate.
- Participate in on‑call coverage as needed.
- Plan and support occasional liturgical, spiritual, or seasonal observances in collaboration with hospital leadership.
- Contact a patient’s personal clergy or faith representative upon request and assist in coordinating visits.
- Document patient interactions according to hospital and departmental standards.
- Set annual goals with the director and meet periodically to review progress and growth.
- Complete continuing education activities aligned with department expectations and personal development goals.
- Assist hospital leadership with administrative tasks related to spiritual care.
