Sr. Electrical Engineer
Location: Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid – 4 Days Onsite, 1 Day Remote)
Duration: Long-Term Contract (Minimum 2 Years)
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Electrical Engineer to support the design and delivery of infrastructure, facility, and power system projects. This role will be responsible for developing electrical designs, preparing construction documents, and supporting projects through planning, design, and construction phases.
Responsibilities
- Develop conceptual, preliminary, final, and construction-stage electrical designs.
- Design power distribution, emergency power, grounding, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
- Prepare one-line diagrams, riser diagrams, wiring diagrams, and construction drawings.
- Perform electrical calculations including load studies, equipment sizing, voltage drop, conduit sizing, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies.
- Support medium-voltage infrastructure and substation design projects.
- Prepare technical specifications, reports, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and project stakeholders.
- Review contractor submittals and respond to RFIs during construction.
- Support utility coordination efforts with service providers for new and upgraded electrical services.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
- 7 years of electrical design engineering experience.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD; REVIT/BIM experience is a plus.
- Experience with power distribution, UPS, generators, grounding, fire alarm, and lighting systems.
- Strong knowledge of electrical calculations and power system studies.
- Experience preparing construction documents, specifications, and estimates.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Experience
- Medium-voltage systems and substation design.
- SCADA and Building Automation Management & Control Systems (BAMCS).
- EV charging infrastructure and solar power installations.
- LED lighting conversion projects.
- Transportation, airport, utility, or large infrastructure projects.
