Job Title: Project Processing Specialist
Location: Jersey City, NJ
Duration: 12-Month Contract
Position Overview
We are seeking a Project Processing Specialist to support the review and processing of tenant alteration and capital improvement projects. This role is responsible for reviewing construction documents, coordinating multidisciplinary technical reviews, ensuring compliance with applicable building codes and technical standards, and facilitating communication between project stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have experience in architecture, engineering, building code compliance, permit review, construction document review, and project coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Review tenant alteration applications and design audit submissions for completeness and code compliance.
- Analyze architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, reports, and supporting documents.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, life safety requirements, accessibility standards, and applicable design standards.
- Coordinate reviews among architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and other technical disciplines.
- Consolidate review comments and prepare correspondence for project stakeholders.
- Assign projects to appropriate reviewers and track review progress.
- Serve as a liaison between tenants, architects, engineers, facilities personnel, and internal review teams.
- Maintain project records and support electronic document management processes.
- Assist with project processing, permit reviews, and design compliance activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in building code review, plan review, permit review, construction document review, design compliance, or related architectural/engineering functions.
- Strong understanding of building systems, construction practices, and design documentation.
- Experience reviewing architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Knowledge of building codes, regulatory requirements, and permit review processes.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and coordination skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Registered Architect (RA) or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience with code review, permit processing, or regulatory agencies.
- Familiarity with SharePoint, Trimble Unity, eBuilder, Bluebeam, or similar project/document management systems.
- Experience supporting transportation, aviation, transit, infrastructure, public-sector, or large commercial facility projects.
- Knowledge of fire protection systems, life safety codes, ADA compliance, and multidisciplinary design review processes.
Salary : $45 - $55
