Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and blood sampling with precision and care
- Collect, label, and process specimens according to established protocols
- Maintain aseptic technique to prevent contamination during specimen collection
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient information and specimen details
- Monitor patients’ vital signs as required during the procedure
- Provide excellent patient service by addressing any concerns or questions from patients
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient workflow and specimen handling
- Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations within the clinical laboratory environment
Skills
- Proficient in laboratory procedures and techniques relevant to phlebotomy
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy knowledge
- Experience in clinical laboratory settings, including hospital experience preferred
- Knowledge of physiology related to patient care and specimen collection/processing
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction and service
- Ability to perform vital signs monitoring accurately
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques to ensure safe practices during blood sampling
