Job Title: Museum Exhibit Installations Project Manager

Location: Manassas, VA (Hybrid – Office & Field-Based)

Pay Rate: $40-$42/hr - W2

Duration: 6 Months Contract to Hire

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Museum Exhibit Installations Project Manager to lead and coordinate museum exhibit installations across the United States. This role will serve as the primary onsite representative during exhibit installations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage museum exhibit installation projects from planning through completion.
• Coordinate installation schedules, logistics, staffing, and subcontractors.
• Serve as the primary client contact during onsite installations.
• Oversee exhibit fabrication, casework, lighting, audiovisual integration, scenic elements, and specialty construction activities.
• Monitor project progress, resolve field issues, and maintain schedule adherence.
• Coordinate vendors, installation crews, and specialty contractors.
• Prepare daily project reports and installation updates.
• Lead punch-list completion, final inspections, and project closeout activities.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards throughout project execution.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Museum Exhibit Project Management experience.
• Minimum 5 years of Exhibit Fabrication and Installation experience.
• Proven experience managing museum exhibits, interpretive exhibits, visitor centers, traveling exhibits, or themed environments.
• Strong knowledge of exhibit construction, fabrication processes, installation sequencing, and project scheduling.
• Experience coordinating vendors, subcontractors, and installation teams.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel extensively and work onsite during installation phases.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with museums, cultural institutions, visitor centers, or exhibit fabrication organizations.
• Knowledge of AV systems, lighting integration, scenic fabrication, custom casework, and artifact mount installations.
• PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.
