Phone operator/PSR

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Phone Operator/Patient Service Representative (PSR) to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities

• Answer multi-line phone systems promptly and professionally, directing calls accurately to the appropriate departments or personnel
• Sending medical records after confirming request is HIPAA ​compliant.
• Verify patient information, update electronic health records (EHR), and review documentation for accuracy and completeness in compliance with HIPAA confidentiality policies
• Maintain meticulous medical records by filing documents correctly and managing electronic health records (EHR) systems efficiently
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries with professionalism and empathy while adhering to clinical confidentiality policies

Requirements

• Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment, including clinic experience or medical administrative support
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks ( preferred Cerner experience)
• Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-10 coding, Medicare guidelines, and health insurance procedures
• Excellent phone communication skills with a focus on phone etiquette and active listening
• Prior clerical experience involving filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and multi-line phone systems is preferred
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and medical records management
• Experience working in a healthcare setting such as dental clinics or outpatient facilities is advantageous
