JOB TITLE:
Director, Arts & Sciences Student Success Center
JOB PURPOSE:
Manage and supervise the programs and staff of the College of Arts & Sciences Student Success Center which includes Outreach, Student Recruiting, Academic Advising, and Career Services. Provide operational leadership and strategic vision, which includes the oversight of programming, administration, fiscal planning/management, metrics, and supervision of professional and administrative staff. Lead the development and implementation of processes, procedures, and policies that impact enrollment management, academic advising, and career services. Develop, coordinate, and implement activities and programs including supervision of program components, fidelity, development, assessment, and staffing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and supervise the programs and staff of the Arts & Sciences Student Success Center which includes Student Recruiting, Academic Advising, Career Services, and K-14 Outreach. Provide operational leadership and strategic vision, which includes the oversight of programming, administration, fiscal planning/management, metrics, and supervision of professional and administrative staff.
- Support existing academic (faculty/professional staff) advising functions. Oversee the development and evaluation of a student success model that includes an undergraduate tiered advising and student support program, professional staff advising activities (where appropriate), and the training and support of new advisors (faculty and staff).
- Supervise staff who are responsible for academic advising and student support. Supervise staff who implement strategies to recruit and retain students. Supervise career services staff.
- Cultivate relationships with employers to create internship and employment opportunities for Arts & Sciences students.
- Supervise, manage, design, and develop initiatives and programs to promote and support Arts & Sciences students.
- Collaborate with college Dean, Associate Deans, Admissions personnel, and various other professionals on campus related to advising, recruiting, and career services programs.
- Develop and manage the student programs in regard to undergraduate experience, which may include professional development workshops, research opportunities, and field site visits.
- Coordinate the marketing and dissemination of information for college programs.
- Design and maintain databases for program assessment metrics. Provide administrative and management reports.
- Monitor student services and University policies to ensure organizational consistency and to enhance and align services. Enforce policies and procedures and compliance with academic requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Master’s degree in higher education administration, student affairs, education counseling, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and working experience as outlined below.
EXPERIENCE: Five years working experience
LICENSURES, CERTIFICATIONS, REGISTRATIONS, OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the Driving for University Business SAP.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Doctorate degree in higher education administration, student affairs, education counseling, or a related field
- Five years’ progressively responsible working experience in student success, academic advising, academic support, student retention, internships/career services, or a closely related area
- Experience working with degree programs and students in the arts, humanities, and/or social sciences
- Demonstrated experience supervising teams
- Experience with planning and leading large-scale programs and initiatives in higher education
