Position Summary
The New Student Programs Office Assistant provides customer service to students, faculty, and staff. The Student Assistant for New Student Programs works in conjunction with New Student program mentors to better serve students and other members of the UIW community. The New Student Programs Student Assistant will report to the Director of New Student Programs.
Essential Functions
- Assists in planning and coordinating of purposeful programs and activities for new students.
- Supports the New Student Programs team to build community in The Landing.
- Enhances the student experience by assisting in providing student resources for student success.
- Assists the Graduate Assistant and Director in compiling content for flyers and social media.
- Collaborates on designing content for the monthly bulletin board located in The Landing.
- Coordinates and manages departmental resources.
- Maintains inventory of student snacks and other items provided in The Landing.
- The Student Assistant is responsible for the general cleanliness, organization, and appearance of The Landing and NSP storage spaces.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Ability to finish projects or communicate progress to peers.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to learn specific and different policy and procedures associated with the Office of New Student Programs.
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Canva.
- Organization skills to keep proper records to include tracking of visitors in the student lounge.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
Required Education
Completed 1 years at UIW as a student.
Required Work Experience
Experience is not required, training is available.
Preferred Qualifications
Customer service experience in a high-volume setting.

None.
Work Hours
- Schedule assigned will be in the time frame of Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.; 8-10 hours per week.
- Some early mornings, evenings and weekends required for specific projects/events during the year.

Ability to lift 30 lbs.
