What are the responsibilities and job description for the Post Doctoral Associate position at University of Pittsburgh?
We are recruiting a post-doc associate in the field of high-throughput genomic data analysis. Specifically, this position will focus on the field of biostatistics and bioinformatics analysis of genomic data, under the supervision of Dr. Silvia Liu (https://sites.pitt.edu/~shl96/). Dr. Liu is an Assistant Professor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. We are seeking a highly trained candidate to work in two major parts:
Responsibilities
A Ph.D. degree is required or expected by Dec 2025 in a related field (e.g., Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or Statistics).
Extensive experience in microarray and next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis, including RNA-seq, WGS/WES, ChIP-seq, single-cell, and spatial transcriptomics.
Strong background in biostatistical genomic data analysis, including differential expression, pathway enrichment, clustering, and supervised machine learning.
Proven experience in genomic data visualization and preparation of publication-quality figures.
Proficiency in R and Bash is required; familiarity with other programming languages is preferred.
Strong ability to translate between biological questions and statistical analyses.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary research teams.
