Essential Functions
- Completes general laboratory chores, including scheduling, stocking, cleaning, autoclaving, glass washing, sterilization of laboratory glassware, preparing buffers, making of agars for research experiment, and operating and setting up laboratory and research equipment.
- Maintains supply inventory and equipment maintenance for courses and research projects; orders supplies and equipment/parts as necessary or directed.
- Organizes experimental tests relevant to assigned project.
- Assists others in lab as directed/needed under close supervision.
- Performs quality control testing in accordance to prescribed protocols; evaluates test results. Records all quality controls instituted to ensure test validity (calibrates and maintains laboratory equipment). Adheres to departmental safety standards in responsibly handling, processing, and testing biological materials.
