The University of Notre Dame () is accepting applications for a Business Assistant (Long-Term Temporary).

Would you like to maintain or gain accounting and financial analysis skills? Are you looking for a flexible position of 10-20 hours per week? Are you interested in supporting the Notre Dame Police Department and Parking Services?
The Business Assistant works closely with and supports the Business Manager of the Police and Parking Services departments where we support the safety of our entire campus community and numerous public events every day of the year.
The Business Assistant uses several University financial systems to review, process and maintain various financial transactions such as payroll hours, purchase orders, payment requests, supply research and orders, journal vouchers, and deposits.
Reviews, updates, formats and electronically distributes Excel and Google sheets tracking various payroll hours.
Combines event staffing and out of pocket cost information from NDPD and Parking Services to create backup for chargebacks to other departments, particularly Athletics, for Security and Parking hours spent supporting their events.
Creates and schedules bi-weekly payroll reminders to Supervisors and runs, reviews and follows up with Supervisors on payroll exception reports. Creates and distributes Deferred Holiday Google Forms to our eligible staff, tracks the responses and then enters appropriate Holiday hours into our Ultratime timekeeping system.
This position offers a flexible schedule of 8-20 hours/week coordinated with the Business Manager. Hours can be worked in the office between 7am-6pm weekdays and some work may be done remotely. (Temporary positions may work a maximum of 900 hours/year.)

Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum two years of professional or personal bookkeeping and financial analysis experience or equivalent education.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, particularly formatting financial information and entering formulas.
- Great organization skills to keep track of tasks, timing, and emails.
- Professional and thoughtful written and verbal communication skills.
- Attentive to details and interested in learning new skills.
- Ability to learn and follow existing processes while being proactive by asking questions and recommending improvements to those processes.
- Must maintain confidentiality of financial and departmental information and respect the privacy of information pertaining to our entire campus community (students, staff, faculty, and visitors).
Preferred Qualifications:
An individual with significant user experience with the University's financial systems, particularly Ultratime, BuyND, and Financial Toolkit as well as strong proficiency with Excel, Google Sheets, and Google Shared Drives.
