Help build New Hampshire’s future highway workforce

The UNH T2 Center is launching a new statewide initiative to strengthen New Hampshire’s highway construction and maintenance workforce, and we’re looking for someone who wants to help build it.

This role is at the center of that effort. You’ll work across state agencies, municipalities, contractors, schools, and community organizations to create training programs, connect people to careers, and support a workforce that keeps New Hampshire’s roads and infrastructure moving.

If you enjoy coordinating programs, building partnerships, and seeing real outcomes from your work, this is an opportunity to make a visible impact across the state.

What You’ll Do

This role is an active, collaborative, and outward-facing opportunity to make your mark.

You Will

Coordinate and grow workforce training programs.

  • Work directly with industry and education partners to shape training that reflects real workforce needs
  • Plan and deliver training events—from identifying locations and instructors to managing logistics and registration
  • Build relationships with stakeholders and partners across New Hampshire
  • Lead regular partner roundtables to share ideas, solve challenges, and keep momentum moving
  • Get out into communities—career fairs, school visits, and events—to promote transportation careers
  • Support hands-on outreach efforts, including interactive demonstrations that introduce people to the field
  • Help connect participants to training, resources, and career opportunities
  • Track program outcomes and help tell the story of the program’s impact

Who This Role Is a Good Fit For

This is a strong fit for someone who:

  • Enjoys organizing programs but doesn’t want a purely administrative role
  • Is comfortable reaching out, building relationships, and working with a wide range of partners
  • Can manage multiple moving pieces without losing sight of the bigger picture
  • Is motivated by workforce development, career pathways, and helping people access meaningful jobs
  • Is energized by building something new rather than maintaining something static

  • Basic Qualifications

    • Associate’s degree in administration, education, workforce development, public administration, or a related field—or equivalent experience (5 years)
    • Experience in program coordination, training, workforce development, or a related area is helpful but not required

Skills That Will Help You Succeed

    • Strong organization, self-motivation, and time management
    • Clear and confident communication with different audiences
    • Comfort using Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint) and virtual platforms (Zoom, Teams)
    • Willingness to learn new tools and systems
    • Familiarity with workforce programs or funding (such as WIOA) is a plus, but not required

  • What To Expect

    • Primarily remote within New Hampshire, with approximately 15% in-state travel for events, trainings, and partner meetings
    • A standard weekday office schedule, with flexibility for occasional evening or weekend activities tied to outreach or events
    • A collaborative, mission-driven environment with a small team that is friendly, helpful, supportive, and focused on supporting local communities and infrastructure
