The Emergency Preparedness and Response Coordinator will report to the Environmental, Health and Safety / Risk Director and is primarily responsible for preparation and response of the University community. This position requires occasional response to an incident may require after hours work hours, including weekends and holidays. This role requires a well-rounded individual that possesses the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships, with all departments on campus and the ability to remain calm, positive, and professional during times of emergency.

Responsibilities
- Work closely with Global HSE, Operations personnel, Corporate Communications, and other key corporate departments to establish emergency response and security training objectives and strategies
- Assist the completion of preparedness training in compliance with regulatory requirements, established standards, and ensure training is accurately documented
- Help with planning and implementation of local and partnership-wide Emergency Drills, Tabletop Exercises, Spill Management Team, and identification of needed corrective actions, share lessons learned, and track closure of corrective actions through facilitation of debriefs/hot wash exercises
- Help develop and update templates to standardize all emergency exercises and final reports to drive consistency of documentation for corporate wide emergency response and security programs
- Maintain the readiness of Emergency Operations Center (EOC) – Forms, supplies, equipment, etc.
- Provide technical assistance for updates to Facility Response Plans, SPCC Plans, Building and Emergency Action Plans, Business -Continuity, and Natural Disaster/Hurricane Recovery Plans
- Work closely to ensure that all Building Floor Coordinators are fully trained
- Perform training in emergency planning, response and crisis management
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as emergency management, public administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum five years experience responding to incidents, or writing emergency response, crisis management, business continuity plans.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to emergency preparedness and response.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain working relationships with various departments.
- Ability to write reports, conduct analysis, and prepare/conduct briefings.
- Ability to assist with the development of and provision of training to support the response process.
- Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as required during emergency incidents.
- Certifications and Training in ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800 a plus
- Intermediate level of knowledge of disaster recovery, disaster response, emergency management and associated state/federal legislation with the ability to research and organize data
- Intermediate level knowledge of standard office procedures (SOP’s) and intermediate computer operations
- Experience in higher education emergency preparedness preferred
