Assistant / Associate Professor - Urology (In Residence Track)

UConn Health is seeking a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor (In Residence) to join the Division of Urology within the Department of Surgery. The successful candidate will contribute to a dynamic academic medical center committed to excellence in clinical care, education, and research.

Position Overview:

The faculty member will provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, consultation, and management of adult patients with a broad range of genitourinary conditions across office-based, ambulatory, and inpatient hospital settings. The primary clinical emphasis will be in General Urology . This role offers opportunities to engage in clinical care, medical education, and research within an academic health system committed to improving the health of Connecticut residents.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality clinical care in general urology

• Engage in resident and medical student education through clinical supervision and formal teaching

• Precept trainees in inpatient, outpatient, and operative settings

• Contribute to the academic mission of UConn Health through scholarly activity, which may include clinical research, outcomes research, or quality improvement initiatives

Minimum Requirements:

• M.D. or D.O. degree (or foreign equivalent)

• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Urology residency program or board eligible equivalent

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Urology

• Eligibility for and ability to obtain a Connecticut medical license

• Commitment to patient-centered care and teamwork within a multidisciplinary environment

Preferred Requirements:

• Prior clinical experience in general urology (post-training or fellowship exposure)

• Interest or experience in teaching medical students and residents

• Demonstrated involvement in research, quality improvement, or scholarly activity

• Interest in contributing to academic program development within an academic health center

• Alignment with UConn Health's mission of integrating clinical care, education, and research to improve population health
