Job Summary:
The University of Colorado (CU) Anschutz School of Medicine (SOM) Research Office, within the Dean’s Office, is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to provide direct professional support for research activities and coordination. Specifically, this position will provide administrative and project management support to Biomedical Research activities and Service Centers, and to Centers and Institutes in the School of Medicine. This position will report to the Research Office Manager.
To be successful in this role, the candidate should be able to manage multiple concurrent projects with minimal support, have advanced organizational and project management skills, and be customer service-oriented. This role is a great opportunity to be involved in campus-wide initiatives and contribute to impactful system improvements. Examples of projects that the Project Manager will lead include: developing, coordinating, and implementing tracking and review processes for all SOM Research Core Facilities and for SOM Centers and Institutes; coordinating regulatory, logistical, and data management components of a campus biobanking effort; and coordinating the collection and organization of regulatory and performance-related documents and data for Centers and Institutes.

Program and Project Management (50%)
- Lead end‑to‑end project management for initiatives in Biomedical Research and School of Medicine Centers and Institutes, including collaborating with stakeholders to develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and deliverables, and tracking and reporting on progress.
- Monitor project status across multiple concurrent initiatives, proactively identifying barriers, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Serve as a central coordination point for projects involving multiple departments, Centers, service centers, and institutes.
- Facilitate collaboration among diverse stakeholder groups to ensure alignment, effective communication, and accountability.
- Provide administrative support to leadership, including scheduling, preparing agendas, presentations, meeting materials, taking notes, tracking action items, and following up on decisions.
- Support the development, documentation, and refinement of workflows, standard operating procedures, templates, and operational models.
- Prepare and maintain operational reports, program databases, and dashboards, and provide leadership with regular updates on progress and performance.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, scalability, and operational efficiencies to support program growth and sustainability.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public health, public administration, healthcare, strategic management, project management, or related field.
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in project coordination or management, business planning, or organizational change initiatives.
- Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in public administration, health administration, business administration, or related field.
- Experience supporting research service centers, shared resources, or core facilities, including coordination of operations, stakeholders, and service delivery.
- Experience working in higher education, academic medicine, or healthcare systems in a project management role.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or comparable certification.
- Analytical Skills – Excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret and understand complex information.
- Communication Skills - Excellent command of the English language, and ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally. Experience in presenting and facilitating in groups.
