Department Summary

The UCLA Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) Campus Resource Center is aligned under the Division of Campus Life in Student Affairs and supports students and employees of all genders and sexual and romantic orientations through community-building events, resources, counseling, outreach, training, consultation, and advocacy. The Center has proudly been serving the UCLA community for over 25 years. We approach our work through holistic, intersectional, and social justice frameworks that honor and empower individuals at their many identities and lived experiences including but not limited to race, ethnicity, immigration status, ability, religion, and class.
Position Summary

The Program Coordinator oversees the Center's marketing and brand management, implementing communication strategies that have campuswide reach, including educational materials and resources, the Center's newsletter, website, social media, and all other digital and print materials. The Program Coordinator also provides direct services to students, including interpersonal advising, identity exploration, workforce readiness, and crisis management. A subject matter expert, the Program Coordinator acts as a resource to campus departments on concepts and issues related to sexuality and gender.

*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications

  • 2 Years Minimum of two years' professional experience working with college students, including experience in group facilitation and multicultural/intersectional programs development (Required)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to present information clearly and effectively to individuals, small and large groups. Skills acting as a spokesperson. (Required)
  • Thorough knowledge of current issues regarding the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, asexual, aromantic, intersex student population (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and evaluate programs and support services that address issues of sexual orientation and gender identity. (Required)
  • Demonstrated skill in listening, counseling, and referring students to individuals, offices, or agencies, to resolve problems. (Required)
  • Current knowledge of Los-Angeles area services and resources for the LGBTQ community.Knowledge of university policy and procedures, including policies governing the use of university funds and facilities, as well as those governing development efforts. (Preferred)
  • Skills using word-processing, database management, spreadsheet, presentation, electronic mail, and other software in a windows environment required. Web design and maintenance skills a plus. Familiarity With BruinBuy a plus. Excellent interpersonal communication, leadership, supervision, and mediation skills. (Required)
  • Ability to multitask and handle changing priorities and conflicting deadlines. Work is in an active office.Ability to use online purchasing and accounts payable system. (Required)
  • Ability to interact effectively with a diverse population including students, faculty, administrators, family members, and the general community, from a variety of cultural, educational, and socioeconomic backgrounds. (Required)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and sensitivity to diversity issues and the cultural needs of university students from diverse ethnic and cultural background. (Required)
  • Demonstrated understanding of diversity that includes but is not limited to race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, ability, socioeconomic level, religion, political persuasion. (Required)
  • Working knowledge of student learning outcomes.Working knowledge of promotional and marketing strategies. (Required)
  • Demonstrated commitment to a student-focused operation.Demonstrated understanding of student learning outcomes. (Required)

  • Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations

  • Graduation from college with a major in education, public administration, psychology, or related field (Required) And
  • Three to five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Required)
  • Advanced degree required to teach in the academy. (Preferred)

  • Special Conditions for Employment

  • Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
  • Live Scan Background Check: A Live Scan background check must be completed prior to the start of employment.
  • Age Requirement: Candidate(s) must be 18 years or older to be eligible to be hired.
  • CANRA: The position is designated as a mandatory reporter under CANRA. The employee must sign the "Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Child Abuse".
  • Must be able to work occasional nights and weekends. (Required)

  • Schedule

    8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. PT/variable based upon operational needs.
