Managing Director

University of California - Los Angeles (UCLA)
Los Angeles, CA Full Time
POSTED ON 3/16/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 5/15/2026

Department Summary

The UCLA Fielding School of Public Health aims to build health and equity, and to drive positive change for all people. We act on this mission through initiatives in three core areas: education, discovery, and service. In each of these realms, we affirm our commitment to developing leaders and evidence-based solutions, and to working in partnership with communities to promote health and well-being in ways that are innovative, respectful, and inclusive.
Position Summary

The Managing Director (Project Policy 4) at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health's Center for Health Climate Solutions (C-Solutions) plays a key leadership role in advancing the Center's growth, sustainability, and impact. The position is primarily responsible for building and sustaining operational funding that supports the Center's core capacity (including faculty, staff, students, and postdoctoral scholars) while advancing C-Solutions' mission and vision. Working in close collaboration with the Center's Co-Directors, the Managing Director helps shape, support, and communicate the Center's strategic direction by supporting programming aligned with strategic priorities and leading implementation tracking and metrics. The role also includes stewardship of the C-Solutions Advisory Boards (including regular communication and management of Board meetings) and partnership with administrative and finance colleagues to support key management and financial documents, budget oversight, and strategic decisions. This is a strategic, relationship-driven role for someone who can expand the Center's visibility, partnerships, and funding base; strengthen external and internal collaborations; secure philanthropic and grant support; and translate C-Solutions' research and activities into clear, compelling communications for diverse audiences across California and beyond. The mission of the Center is to advance research, education, and policy that promotes healthy and resilient communities for all. The Center uses evidence-based best practices that improve health and resilience now and for future generations. Ongoing projects include a heat and health risk map for community decision leaders, improving local community preparedness for extreme heat, and raising awareness of the health effects from wildfires and wildfire smoke. This is an exciting opportunity to work with UCLA climate experts who are doing core research on the impacts of climate change on health.
