The role

We are seeking a part-time experienced HR Business Partner to join our team working across the Faculty of Science and Engineering.

As a key player in our organisation, you'll provide top-notch HR advisory services to managers at all levels, tackling a diverse range of people management challenges. Your expertise will be vital in finding innovative solutions, considering HR policy, employment legislation, and our unique organisational culture. You will also contribute to the development of HR processes in order to achieve the aims of the HR strategy and University Plan.

This role is part-time (21 hrs pw) and fixed term until 19/03/2027.

What will you be doing?

Working with your allocated area of the Faculty you will establish strong working relationships with key managers. Routine activities within the role will include supporting managers with employee relations cases from all stages of the employee lifecycle, workforce planning, analysing and interpreting HR MI data.

You will also be responsible for supporting organisational reviews, and assisting with the management of academic procedures at School and/or Faculty level.

  • Experience of working in a similar position as a HR Business Partner.
  • Demonstrable experience of balancing a busy caseload and successfully partnering with managers at multiple levels in a complex environment.
  • Flexibility in your approach and be happy to be part of a supportive team.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are a pre-requisite with the ability to explain complex issues clearly and effectively to stakeholders of all levels.

Additional information

Contract type: Fixed term maternity cover for 12 months

Work pattern: Part time to include Wednesday and Thursday - third working day to be discussed.

Grade: I

Salary: £39,906 - £44,746 per annum
