GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate and communicate with various parties, including state regulatory agencies, courts, agents, producers, and underwriting staff to support our underwriting efforts and take appropriate action within designated timeframes.
- Participate in the company operator functions, directing incoming phone calls to appropriate team channels.
- Distribute company mail to appropriate team channels through email and/or hard copy USPOST/FEDEX.
- Receive, review, and process requests for new agent/agency appointments and terminations for the Bail, Surety, and P&C team channels, as well as tracking/recording of Surplus Lines Broker licenses.
- Prepare and assist as requested agent/agency contracts, agreements, and invoices for the Bail team.
- Support the Surety team by processing bond cancellations and notifying agents, principals, and beneficiaries throughout the process.
- Ensure quality and timeliness of response to agent and customer inquiries.
- Ensure electronic and hard-copy files are accurately maintained in accordance with company and regulatory guidelines.
- Retrieve and review property valuation reports to aid in the bond underwriting process.
- Develop personal industry skills and knowledge to meet the company’s culture and expectations of continuous learning and career enrichment.
- Perform or assist with other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
- Minimum high school diploma/GED required.
- Two years of Insurance, paralegal, bookkeeping, or mortgage/real estate background preferred.
- Operational knowledge with the Microsoft Office suite of products and the ability to learn new software as needed.
- Detail-oriented and well-organized with good customer service skills in both written and verbal communications.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and independently as required.
- Ability to interact collaboratively and collegially with colleagues, agents, and customers in a professional manner.
- Possess or willingness to obtain a Michigan Notary desired.
