What are the responsibilities and job description for the Per-Diem Ultrasound Technician position at Universal Primary Care?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Instructs patients regarding procedures to ensure cooperation and optimum test results
- Utilizes and maintains equipment according to STCHCN polices/manufacturers standards
- Manages and communicates patient information appropriately
- Documents work processes as required
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care appropriate to the age and developmental level of the patient
- Respects cultural customs and beliefs
- Collaborates with other members of the health care team in order to optimize patient outcomes
- Coordinates the use of human and material resources for the provision of care to assigned patients
- Identifies and provides the patient and family with appropriate information regarding assessed educational needs. Assumes responsibility for a role in the education of students, employees and community.
- Demonstrates professional growth as evidenced by meeting certification requirement of twenty-four (24) units of continuing education every two (2) years or equivalent.
- Assists in data collection for Quality Assurance Plan.
- Completes pre-visit planning/chart preparation.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree preferred
- Completion of an accredited diagnostic ultrasound technology program required.
- Certification in OB/GYN preferred
- Minimum two (2) years experience preferred
- BLS certification for health care providers required
- Active ARDMS certification or eligible with scheduled exam date is required, with maintenance of the certification
Universal Primary Care (UPC) is seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual with a positive attitude to join our team of healthcare professionals.
This position provides per diem coverage, as needed, in our Olean, Salamanca, and/or Bradford clinic locations and is responsible for performing OB ultrasonic diagnostic procedures in accordance with accepted protocols as directed by providers following prescribed safety standards in operating equipment.
