Position Summary

The CQI Specialist plays a critical role in monitoring service delivery, analyzing data, and supporting agency-wide quality improvement initiatives. This position collaborates with program leadership to ensure compliance with North Carolina regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and internal policies.

The CQI Specialist plays a critical role in monitoring service delivery, analyzing data, and supporting agency-wide quality improvement initiatives. This position collaborates with program leadership to ensure compliance with North Carolina regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine chart audits, documentation reviews, and program monitoring across services
- Track, analyze, and report quality indicators, outcomes, and trends
- Support development and monitoring of CQI projects
- Assist with incident review, corrective action plans, and follow-up tracking
- Prepare materials for CQI Committee meetings and regulatory reviews
- Ensure compliance with NC Medicaid, DMH/DD/SAS, and LME/MCO requirements (e.g., Vaya Health, Alliance Health)
- Provide training and technical assistance to staff on documentation and quality standards
- Assist with the provision of staff training in coordination with the Training Department, including support at select office locations as needed
- Maintain data systems, reports, and quality dashboards
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Healthcare Administration, Social Work, Psychology, or related field
- Experience in behavioral health, IDD services, or healthcare quality improvement
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data tracking/reporting
- Experience with NC service definitions and 10A NCAC 27G rules
- Prior CQI, compliance, or utilization review experience
- Experience working with LME/MCOs (Vaya, Alliance, etc.)
- Knowledge of accreditation standards (CARF or similar)
- Detail-oriented with high accuracy (important for audits/compliance)
- Ability to interpret regulations and apply them in practice
