About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (Med Surg) to join a trusted healthcare facility in Corning, Iowa. This 13-week contract offers night shifts, ideal for nurses who thrive when the world is quiet, patients are tucked in, and care runs at a steady heartbeat.
As a Med Surg RN, you'll play a crucial role in supporting diverse patient populations while collaborating with an outstanding healthcare team to ensure top-quality care and outcomes.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Deliver direct and compassionate nursing care to medical-surgical patients.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary staff to optimize patient recovery.
- Document patient care and maintain accurate medical records.
- Provide education to patients and families on discharge planning and home care.
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Iowa or compact state.
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience required.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Education
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing ASN or BSN.
Knowledge and Skills
- Excellent critical thinking and assessment abilities.
- Proficient in EHR documentation.
- Ability to multitask and manage complex patient needs.
- Team-oriented mindset with a passion for quality care.
