Overview

Shift: Full Time; 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM Rotating Holidays and Weekends

As a Patient Safety Companion, you will make a real impact by supporting clients in their daily activities while helping maintain a safe, therapeutic environment. You’ll monitor and interact with clients throughout the day, document activity, and contribute to care guided by trauma-informed principles.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning building, completing laundry, stocking supplies, and preparing food for clients
• Respond to calls and provide front desk coverage
• Completes safety rounding to maintain therapeutic, secure, and safe environment for patients/visitors/staff including enforcement of rules.
• Accurately documents safety rounds.
• Intervenes appropriately and therapeutically in crisis situations using crisis intervention preventions and trauma informed care.
• Demonstrate competence in recognizing and responding to patients physical, mental, emotional and developmental needs utilizing crisis prevention intervention and trauma informed care.
  
  

Qualifications

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
  
  

License(s)/Certification(s):

• Possession of a valid Class “D” Iowa driver’s license or an equivalent license from the employee’s state of residence.
• CPR
• CPI (Crisis Prevention and Intervention) training, initial & yearly renewal
  
  

Experience:

• Knowledge of proper food handling and preparation.
• Mental health or substance disorder experience preferred.
