United Protective Services is seeking a dependable, professional, and customer-focused Security Supervisor to lead day-to-day security operations at a busy outdoor shopping center.
This is a hands-on supervisory position requiring an active presence throughout the property while serving as the primary liaison between the security team and Property Management. The Security Supervisor will support daily property operations, assist tenants, communicate security and maintenance concerns, and provide leadership and direction to assigned Security Officers.
The ideal candidate is organized, observant, proactive, and comfortable communicating with Property Management, tenants, vendors, and the public in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison between United Protective Services and Property Management
- Maintain regular communication with Property Management regarding security concerns, incidents, maintenance issues, and property conditions
- Provide leadership, direction, and support to Security Officers assigned to the property
- Ensure officers follow post orders, uniform standards, patrol expectations, and client requirements
- Maintain an active, visible, and professional security presence throughout the shopping center
- Conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols of parking areas, storefronts, pedestrian walkways, service areas, and the exterior perimeter
- Monitor the property for suspicious activity, safety hazards, maintenance concerns, and unusual conditions
- Control and monitor access to the Fire Command Center (FCC) and ensure access is limited to authorized personnel
- Serve as a point of contact for tenants requiring assistance from Property Management
- Receive tenant maintenance concerns and relay requests to Property Management for follow-up
- Monitor vendor and contractor activity when necessary
- Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and service calls
- Assist tenants, shoppers, and visitors with general customer service needs
- Observe and report property damage, lighting issues, water leaks, trip hazards, landscaping concerns, and other maintenance or safety issues
- Complete Daily Activity Reports (DARs), incident reports, and other required documentation accurately and promptly
- Ensure significant incidents and property concerns are communicated to Property Management and United Protective Services management
- Coordinate with law enforcement, fire, and emergency responders when appropriate
Requirements
- Previous security experience required
- Supervisory or lead security experience preferred
- Strong customer service, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to communicate professionally with Property Management and commercial tenants
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to walk and patrol outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment
- Strong report-writing and documentation skills
- Basic computer and smartphone proficiency
- Valid Texas Security License preferred
