Position Overview

The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests, tenants, employees, and visitors at an upscale outdoor shopping center. This position requires a professional appearance, strong customer service skills, and the ability to maintain a highly visible security presence throughout the property.

This is an active, outdoor overnight position that requires frequent walking, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service while assisting guests, tenants, vendors, and visitors.
• Maintain a professional and approachable presence throughout the property.
• Conduct frequent foot patrols of retail areas, parking areas, common spaces, and exterior locations.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, safety concerns, maintenance issues, and property damage.
• Respond to tenant requests, guest concerns, incidents, and emergencies in a timely manner.
• Enforce property rules and policies professionally and consistently.
• Monitor pedestrian and vehicle activity throughout the property.
• Conduct security checks of tenant storefronts, access points, and common areas.
• Assist with overnight security operations and after-hours activity monitoring.
• Maintain clear communication with Security Management and Property Management.
• Complete accurate Daily Activity Reports, Incident Reports, and required documentation.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

• Walk and stand for the majority of the assigned shift.
• Patrol a large outdoor property on foot throughout overnight hours.
• Work outdoors with exposure to heat, cold, rain, and changing weather conditions.
• Navigate stairs, sidewalks, parking areas, and uneven surfaces.
• Remain alert and professional in a physically active environment.
