TITLE: MAINTENANCE WORKER
REPORTS TO: MAINTENANCE DIRECTOR
General Statement ofDuties:
Performs general maintenance in and around the building and grounds.
Education and Experience:

High school diploma required.

Two years of previous experience in minor plumbing and minor electrical work. e Driver's license required.

Satisfactory references.
Description ofDuties and Responsibilities:

At the beginning of shift makes rounds on unit assigned. Checks for work orders in box by nurse's station.

Paints, plasters, does carpentry, minor electrical and plumbing work. Repairs broken utilities.

Inspects building and grounds, observes items needing repair and/or replacement.

Investigates reports and calls requesting repair work. Answers walkie-talkies when called upon.

Under supervision of Maintenance Director, assist in repairing boilers. If licensed, repairs boiler.
Transports broken fixtures and/or furnishings required repairs in the Maintenance Department to the Maintenance Department and repairs same.

Responsible for keeping maintenance work area clean and any area that work is done in the building.

Attends meetings as assigned.

Responsible for proper maintenance of storage and oxygen equipment.
Performs duties in related job classification similar to, above or below his/her own as specified by the Maintenance Director.
Works on shift assigned, which may at times be flexible and/or variable as workload and scheduling dictate.

Responsible for all necessary work on unit assiB1ed.

If unable to address issue on unit assigned problem must be brought to the Director for resolution.

Does seasonal preparation for A/C units and heating elements.
Replaces tiles where needed.
Prior to leaving for the day makes rounds on unit to check work orders. Meets with vendors, accompanies vendors to work site relative to call.

Works collaboratively with Housekeeping in the snow shoveling the facility property and ice removal as needed.

Answers emergency calls at Soundview and assists as required.

Repairs beds, wheelchairs, and other equipment as requested.

Follows all safety procedures.

Assumes responsibility for regular attendance.
