Job Description:
Friends of United Hatzalah seeks a Development and Stewardship Associate to join our U.S.-based team. This full-time position is based in our New York City headquarters on a hybrid in-office work schedule. The position reports to the Chief of Staff and will be a key member of the team. The ideal candidate will be a people-person and is proactive, detail-oriented, skilled at multitasking and prioritizing. This candidate will help support and enable the Development team to focus on fundraising and development and will manage our donor stewardship in the U.S. They should be passionate about United Hatzalah’s mission and will work closely and collaboratively with U.S. and Israeli team members. This position will work within a friendly and sociable team full of like-minded individuals and grow a meaningful career in the non-profit sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Donor Engagement and Relationship Management:
- Support a team of fundraisers with donor management, prospective donors, event support, reporting and other tasks as needed
- Assist in managing relationships with current and prospective donors for a team of fundraisers
- Help maintain donor records and track engagement using Salesforce CRM
- Conduct research on potential individual, corporate, and foundation donors
- Help with event logistics, including guest lists, invitations, event materials, and post-event follow-up
Stewardship:
- Oversee stewardship initiatives such as donor recognition plaques, stewardship books, and post-event recognition materials, ensuring quality and consistency
- Manage Planned Giving and Endowment stewardship, including recognition, stewardship outreach, and coordination of donor communications
- Ensure stewardship activities align with organizational standards and donor expectations, maintaining strong attention to detail and process adherence
- Develop new stewardship initiatives when needed
Data Management and Reporting:
- Update donor information and fundraising activity in Salesforce
- Prepare and distribute donor reports for data analysis to support fundraising results
- Ensure compliance with all financial and budgeting processes
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other members of the fundraising and development team to achieve collective goals
- Attend team meetings and contribute to brainstorming, planning, and strategy development
- Complete additional administrative duties and tasks to support the team
Qualifications:
Successful candidates will demonstrate the following:
- Up to 3 years' experience in similar or related role
- Bachelor’s Degree
- High degree of comfort interacting with high-net-worth donors
- Excellent interpersonal skills and customer-service orientation
- Team player with the ability to multitask
- Strong computer capabilities, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Salesforce or similar CRM preferred. Graphics (Canva) a plus
- Excellent communication, writing, research, and presentation skills
- Passion for United Hatzalah’s mission of saving lives in Israel
Salary range: $50,000 - $55,000 per year, with comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, retirement plan with employer match, and paid holidays/time off.
