Development Associate
Full-Time/Based in Greater Rochester, NY/Reports to Chief Development Officer
David’s Refuge is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Development Associate to support our mission of providing respite, resources, and support to caregivers of children with special needs. This full-time role is integral to our fundraising, donor stewardship, event coordination, and partner engagement efforts.

Key Responsibilities
· Support annual fundraising goals through donor cultivation, foundations outreach, and event execution.
· Manage donor stewardship for individuals, corporate partners and foundations.
· Oversee donor database, online fundraising platforms (OneCause, Salesforce), and gift acknowledgement process.
· Plan and execute fundraising and family service events.
· Create digital content and support social media engagement.
· Foster relationships with volunteers, community leaders, agency partners, donors, and families we serve.
· Collaborate with staff, board members, and external partners to strengthen program impact.
Qualifications
· Bachelors degree preferred; minimum 3 years of nonprofit experience.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
· Proficiency with CRM/databases (Salesforce a plus), Microsoft Office, Canva, Social Media
· Experience with event planning and donor management.
· Cultural competency and sensitivity to the special needs community.

· Occasional evening/weekend work and regional travel required.

· May sit or stand for long periods of time. Manual dexterity sufficient for constant use of computer keyboard and other office equipment. Vision sufficient for frequent use of computer monitor, developing and reading paperwork. Must be able to lift a maximum of twenty (20) pounds.
