The Vice President of Engineering will be a strategic, hands-on leader that will lead all engineering operations at S&P Air Control LLC, overseeing new product development, drafting, and design teams within each location and for every brand of S&P Air Control LLC. This executive will be responsible for advancing innovation, ensuring design excellence, optimizing workflows, and aligning engineering initiatives with the company?s strategic growth objectives while delivering high quality products on time. The VP of Engineering will collaborate closely with executive leadership to drive market differentiation through product innovation and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute the company?s engineering and product development strategy in alignment with corporate goals.
- Partner with the CEO and executive team to develop long-term technical and innovation roadmaps.
- Champion continuous improvement in design processes, engineering methodologies, and cross-department collaboration.
Product Development & Innovation
- Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of new product development ? from concept through commercialization.
- Ensure design and drafting teams deliver high-quality, cost-effective, and manufacturable solutions.
- Integrate customer feedback, market data, and emerging technologies into the product design process.
Team Management & Culture
- Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering organization, including design, drafting, and NPD teams.
- Foster a culture of accountability, creativity, and technical excellence.
- Implement performance metrics, training programs, and leadership development within the department.
- Deep commitment to developing people and connecting engagement to results.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to meet business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, safety requirements, and quality systems.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, operations, and sales teams to ensure seamless product introduction and scalability.
Executive Collaboration
- Serve as a key advisor to the CEO on all engineering and technology-related initiatives.
- Communicate project status, technical risks, and opportunities to the executive team.
- Contribute to corporate strategy, cost management, and product positioning discussions
Qualifications
- Bachelor?s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (Master?s preferred).
- 10 years of progressive engineering leadership experience, including management of multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven track record of leading new product development and innovation in a manufacturing or HVAC-related industry.
- Strong understanding of CAD, drafting systems, and product design best practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on technical oversight.
