Ephrata Manor is seeking positive, upbeat individuals to work part-time hours (3:30pm-7:30pm or 4:00pm-8:00pm) in its busy skilled nursing facility. We are also seeking PRN/As-Needed/Fill-In Activities Assistants to cover for vacations and special events!!
The Activities Assistant's role is to assist in ensuring our residents are able, to the greatest degree possible, to continue to enjoy their lifelong/preferred daily routines and enjoy programming consistent with their preferences in
accordance with their assessment and care plan.
Job Duties:
- Assist in leading and implementing the activities and programs of the facility;
- Encourage and support residents' participation in programming activities;
- Observe and document attendance, resident mood, behavior and involvement in programming activities;
- Ensure residents are able to maintain their lifelong routines and enjoy programs consistent with their preferences;
- Arrange transportation for off-site trips, when necessary;
- Assist in developing volunteer activity assignments;
- Recommend equipment and supplies to Activities Supervisor;
- Follow resident care policies, code of conduct, HIPAA guidelines and other required protocols;
- Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positivity, as well as a calm environment;
- Complete all required electronic and manual documentation accurately on appropriate forms; and,
- Develop and maintain good working relationship with interdisciplinary team, as well as within your department.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalency preferred;
- Preference will be given to individuals with activities experience in long-term care settings;
- Valid PA Driver's license is preferred;
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and governing agencies;
- Must possess the willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel;
- Must have the ability and willingness to learn basic computer skills;
- Must have the ability, with or without accommodation, to meet the physical requirements of the position.
