This is a hybrid contract role (3 days in office) running through December 2026 with potential extension. The position pays $60-$65/hr and involves leading Agile teams in a software-heavy environment with an emphasis on data-driven delivery and AI-assisted tools.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, maintaining team focus on sprint goals and continuous improvement
- Monitor project timelines and deadlines; take proactive action to prevent slippage and ensure delivery targets are met
- Design, track, and report on team performance metrics including sprint velocity, throughput, cycle time, defect rates, and predictability
- Build and maintain Jira dashboards and metrics reports to track sprint health, capacity, and key performance indicators
- Analyze retrospective data to identify patterns in blockers and rework; convert findings into actionable improvement items
- Remove impediments using trend data and pattern recognition; drive transparency through metrics-based communication
- Coordinate with Product Owners and PMO on prioritization, resource allocation, and project funding
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies and coaching; support team self-organization and conflict resolution
- Leverage AI tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Jira Automation) to enhance team productivity and surface delivery insights
- Present data-driven insights and status reports to stakeholders and senior leadership
- Track AI adoption metrics and provide evidence-based recommendations on emerging tools and practices
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in MIS, computer science, or related field; or equivalent IT/software development and program management experience
- 4 years as a Scrum Master in IT-heavy organizations
- Demonstrated experience with Agile SDLC models (Scrum, Kanban) and Agile planning in Jira
- Agile certification (CSM, SAFe SM, or PSM) preferred
- Proven ability to design, track, and present team performance metrics across multiple concurrent teams
- Strong project leadership, analytical, and facilitation skills
- Excellent listening, observational, and interpersonal skills; ability to resolve conflicts
- Technical writing and communication skills; comfort working across all organizational levels
- Proficiency with AI-assisted tools and comfort interpreting delivery data
- Experience building and presenting team performance dashboards and metrics reports
- Working knowledge of AI/ML concepts as they apply to software delivery
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (Jira dashboards, Power BI, or similar)
- Understanding of IT planning, reporting, and business factors affecting delivery
