POSITION SUMMARY
A Shift Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Joint. As a member of the management team, you will be responsible for general oversight of daily operations and restaurant management. This role includes staff management oversight and training; ensuring food preparation is done per guidelines; maintaining the highest quality of cleanliness, safety, and sanitation at the restaurant; ensuring the customers experience a quality dining environment; maintaining a sense of team cohesiveness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
• Training new employees on restaurant procedures
• Collaborating with the leadership to create shift schedule and assignments
• Motivating colleagues to maintain restaurant standards of excellence
• Monitoring all equipment and supplies
• Handling customer issues as they arise
• Documenting any inventory concerns
• Maintaining sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas
• Preparing food and beverage items as needed
• Serving orders to customers at windows, counters, or tables
• Taking food and drink orders and receiving payment from customers, as needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
• 1-2 years Quick Service or Fast Food experience preferred
• 1-2 years food preparation experience preferred
• 1 year restaurant and cash handling experience preferred
• Ability to handle stress under pressure and in fast-paced situations
• Work well with others and collaborate as a member of a team
• Basic math and calculation skills
• Positive attitude
• Current certifications as required by state and local laws
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation rules
