GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, the Security Leader is responsible for monitoring the activities of security personnel. Prepares the work roster and assigns security personnel ensuring there is adequate security coverage throughout the assigned facility/site. Arranges special coverage for events or when circumstances require. Reviews security reports, incidents and/or electronic media on a daily basis in order to inform officers of any relevant information at roll call prior to the regularly scheduled starting time.
Monitors Henry Ford Health facilities and properties in order to prevent loss of property or injury to HFH employees, tenants, visitors, or others having business with HFH.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Associate's Degree required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Requires the job knowledge, skills and abilities of an HFHS Security Officer/Security Police Officer or the equivalent in work experience and must have currently received a satisfactory or above performance review in all areas.
- Completion of IAHSS Supervisory and Safety training programs within the first year.
- Must demonstrate strong management and communications capabilities.
- Must display excellent customer service skills and behaviors as outlined in the HFHS' Customer Service Policy.
- Work requires interpersonal skills that key in on quality customer service initiatives along with the leadership skills necessary to supervise assigned personnel.
ADDENDUM-TROY MAPLE BUILDING:
Additional Duties:
1. Maintain regular communication with site leadership regarding security incidents, staffing changes, and operational issues affecting the facility and its occupants, in accordance with established HFH Security communication protocols.
2. Coordinate with site Facilities and Support Services to ensure awareness of after-hours building activity, badge/access-control requests, and any security-related matters requiring facility operations support.
3. Support site emergency preparedness activities, including participation in drills, exercises, and incident command activations as directed.
Education/Experience — Preferred:
• Experience with access-control systems and badge management
• Familiarity with ambulatory, corporate campus, or multi-tenant security operations
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
- Certification under public act 330 within the first year of performing this role or at the first offered classes in the tri-county area.
