POSITION OVERVIEW
The Audiovisual and Interpretive Technology Supervisor designs, builds, and maintains
technology systems across Metroparks, including standard audio-visual systems
(Crestron, QSC), mobile applications, touch screen interpretive, video/multimedia exhibits, 3D
and extended reality systems (AR/VR), electronic exhibits, and audio-visual systems
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Evaluation of this position is based primarily on the performance of the following essential
functions, which include, but are not limited to:
1) Regular and predictable attendance is expected and required. All Metroparks
employees must be prepared to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends,
and/or holidays as required.
2) Manages new interpretive system design and implementation. Meets with internal clients or
external partners to determine project requirements; develops plan and engineers
audiovisual systems; researches products and solutions; prepares quotes / purchasing
paperwork; installs, programs, and trains end-users on the system.
3) Evaluates and collaborates with outside contractors to design, build, and install products,
services, and complete projects.
4) Performs digital content production services, including the development and maintenance of
3D and VR media systems. Meets with internal clients for planning; captures video and
photographic media; utilizes computer systems to manipulate, edit, and master digital
products.
5) Develops and maintains mobile applications. Meets with internal clients for planning; writes
code to generate software; trains end-users.
6) Performs maintenance and troubleshooting on existing exhibit and audio-visual systems.
7) Manages and operates the BrightSign Digital Signage network.
8) Manages and operates the Dante Audio system at Metroparks Zoo.
WHAT’S NEEDED
Education and Experience
Experience in digital arts/media, game design, programming, or related field. Experience with
digital media production, 3D modeling software, Adobe Creative Suite, A/V systems, application
development; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which
provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Credentials, Licenses, and Certifications
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license under the laws of the State of Ohio.
Other Qualifications
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, including
employees and the general public.
• Ability to speak and write clearly, concisely, and persuasively using correct grammar, spelling,
and punctuation with the ability to communicate one-on-one or in group settings.
• Ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy and organization.
• Management skills and strong business acumen, including problem-solving, vision, ability to
manage multiple programs and meet deadlines, collaboration, leadership, decision making,
and ability to analyze diverse facts and develop clear and concise reports and
recommendations.
• Will work with room audio-visual systems or audio-visual exhibits to maintain said systems
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Knowledge of BrightSign and/or Dante a plus
• Proficiency in software programs including all Microsoft Office programs, Blender, Unity,
BrightSign systems, Adobe Creative Suite, Structured Light Scanning software, and others.
• Knowledge of automation systems (Crestron, QSC)
• Mature professional attitude and considerable discretion, including the ability to manage
confidential information.
• Ability to track metrics and performance of exhibits/content for audiences.
• Ability to perform with considerable independence and initiative
