Job Title: Landscape & Stormwater Maintenance Crew Foreman
Job Summary: The Landscape & Stormwater Maintenance Foreman will be responsible for supervising, working alongside field crews, and overseeing the maintenance, inspection, and repair of landscape projects and stormwater control devices. This role ensures all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with environmental regulations and company standards. The Foreman serves as the primary point of contact in the field, coordinating daily operations and maintaining the standard of service that clients require.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead landscape and stormwater maintenance crews on a daily basis
- Plan, schedule, and assign tasks including mowing, pruning, planting, mulching, irrigation maintenance, and stormwater system upkeep
- Inspect stormwater control measures such as sand filters, biorention ponds, dry detention ponds, etc. for proper function and compliance
- Perform and oversee repairs, including erosion control, sediment removal, and structural fixes
- Ensure all work meets local, state, and federal environmental regulations
- Operate and maintain equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, skid steers, and excavation tools
- Train crew members on safety procedures, equipment use, and best practices.
- Enforce safety standards and conduct routine safety meetings
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, inspections, and materials used
- Communicate with management, clients, and project managers regarding project status and issues
- Assist with estimating labor, materials, and time requirements for projects
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications in landscape contracting, herbicides/pesticides, horticulture, and stormwater management preferred
- 3–5 years of experience in landscape maintenance and installation and/or Stormwater control measure maintenance
- Prior supervisory and crew leadership experience required
- Knowledge of stormwater regulations, BMPs (Best Management Practices), and erosion control methods
- Ability to read site plans, blueprints, and maintenance schedules
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in operating landscaping and light construction equipment
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred, but not required)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Frequent lifting of 50 pounds
- Standing, walking, bending, and operating equipment for extended periods
