Job Description
Role and Responsibilities
The IT Systems Assistant will provide UMRF Ventures' IT department with administrative and technical support, ensuring efficient daily operations and assisting with administrative, and system-related tasks.
They will work alongside the CIO & IT project team to help with documentation and communication of IT best practices.
Their schedule will include 10 hours of work each week on site, ideally during the hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM from Tuesday to Friday, at least 3 hours but preferably two 5-hours shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the organization of the company’s IT documentation ensuring consistency and accessibility
- Assist in gathering, monitoring, and improving support through feedback mechanisms
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer systems, hardware, and software.
- Maintain an organized IT asset management system with an up-to-date inventory of the physical IT assets.
- Assist with system maintenance and updates.
- Perform basic troubleshooting for hardware and software issues.
- Support the CIO and IT team with routine tasks and special projects.
- Assist in collecting and refining IT audit evidence and documentation to ensure compliance.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, IT recommendations and modifications, as well as organizational IT procedures to ensure a lasting impact.
- Provide general support for ad hoc IT tasks and initiatives as assigned by the Project Manager and CIO.
- Additional responsibilities are defined between CIO and the employee depending on company needs and the employee’s availability

Qualifications and Education Requirements
