Key Responsibilities and Opportunities:

As an integral member of our team, the IT Systems Engineer plays a pivotal role in managing our clients' IT environments, ensuring their success and satisfaction. As part of our robust team, you'll collaborate closely to provide expert solutions, including comprehensive network/system architecture, project management and implementation, Virtual CIO (VCIO) support for IT budgeting and business growth, and final escalation assistance for Tier 1 & 2 to diagnose, resolve, and document escalated support tickets. Additionally, you will handle onsite work such as dispatched escalated support, equipment installation and implementation, and project assignments. You'll have the chance to identify and develop innovative solutions and processes, making a direct positive impact on our customers. We strive for proactive measures to minimize reactive issues, allowing our customers to focus on their core business priorities.


This position is our highest technical level, the end all be all! Must have the confidence to take on any issue or task and the skills to back it up!


Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 8 years' experience as an IT Systems Administrator or Engineer (L2 or higher).
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively troubleshoot IT issues and see them through to resolution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fostering collaboration with team members and customers.
  • A passion for continuous learning and a commitment to expanding your skill set.
  • Exceptional multitasking abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously. High volume environment.
  • Strong project management skills, from initiation and setting milestones to timeline accountability and successful completion.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized, with a proactive mindset.
  • Take ownership and accountability for escalation tickets and assigned projects.
  • Thrive in high-pressure environments.
  • Aptitude to solve problems and provide solutions. Top level role that is the last line of escalation. Must have very high level of knowledge, experience and troubleshooting skill.


Additional Expectations:

  • Willingness to do night and weekend shifts as part of our on-call rotation and scheduled afterhours work.
  • Ability to work closely with Level 1/2 technicians on escalated tickets and provide training and feedback for improvement.
  • Capability to manage Level 2 resources for new client onboarding projects and larger initiatives.


Required Technical Expertise:

  • Extensive knowledge and competency in all Microsoft Workstation Operating Systems and Applications.
  • Proficiency in managing Microsoft Server Operating Systems and Networks.
  • Expertise in managing and implementing firewalls, layer 2/3 switches, access points, and other networking devices.
  • Expert knowledge in firewall configuration and troubleshooting. Multi-vendor experience.
  • Thorough understanding of layer 2 and layer 3 networking, including a solid grasp of the OSI model.
  • Administration and configuration of Microsoft Office 365 email, applications, InTune, and Azure AD.
  • Advanced knowledge of Azure AD, SharePoint, MDM, and MFA.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy.
  • Experience working with computer peripherals, such as printers and scanners.
  • Strong hardware, software, and network troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to perform onsite installations of IT equipment.
  • Ability to architect solutions and implementation plans for customer needs.
  • Advanced knowledge of VPN technologies, including configuration, support, and troubleshooting.
  • Advanced understanding of DHCP and DNS configuration and management.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills to identify and solve complex escalated issues.
  • Virtual Environment Management proficiency (VMWare, Hyper-V, Hyper-Converged).
  • Cybersecurity solutions implementation (EDR, SOC, IAM, SASE, CASB, ZeroTrust, Vul.Scan, etc.).
  • Cyber event investigation and remediation.


Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience with Managed Service Providers (MSP).
  • Familiarity with PSA and RMM tools, such as ConnectWise, Autotask, and Kaseya.
  • Certifications: A , Net , Sec , MCP, MCSA, MCSE, Microsoft 365.
  • Continued education: Associate or Bachelor's degree in MIS or Computer Science.
