What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diesel Technician - with Travel position at Umpqua Dairy?
Essential Functions: Pay Range $25.26-$28.07
This position is responsible for:
- Approaching work with a Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset and serving as an example of living our Producers Dairy purpose and core values.
- Conducting activities in a safe manner, following company safety guidelines and requirements and proactively address any unsafe conditions observed.
- Determine nature of needed repairs for company tractors and trailers through accurate troubleshooting.
- Work with the garage manager to properly prioritize work and complete within appropriate timelines.
- Adjust valves according to specifications and charge system with proper type of refrigerant by pumping the specified gas or fluid into the system.
- Test lines, components, and connections for leaks.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
- Performs Federal Inspections. A and B PM services as per DOT guidelines.
- Repair and Maintain Mechanical Equipment— Service, repair, adjust, and test machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical principles.
- Repair of electric and hydraulic lift-gates.
- Computer aided troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Make safety a top priority – properly manage time and prepare for jobs to work in a safe manner. Ask for help when needed.
- Maintain appropriate dress, hygiene, and personal appearance standards to represent the department and the Company in a positive and professional manner.
- Other administrative tasks as assigned.
