Duties

- Handle all aspects of food preparation, including slicing fish, rolling sushi, and garnishing plates for visual appeal
- Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients to preserve freshness and prevent cross-contamination
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal service efficiently during busy hours
- Assist in catering events or special functions by preparing sushi platters and ensuring timely delivery
Experience
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant or fine dining setting
- Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine, sushi techniques, and food presentation standards
- Demonstrated proficiency in knife skills and food handling practices essential for sushi preparation
- Experience with menu planning, ingredient sourcing, and maintaining quality consistency
- Background in the food industry with exposure to food safety regulations and sanitation procedures
- Previous work in dietary departments or with dietary aides is a plus but not required
- Familiarity with catering services and serving large groups is advantageous
