The successful Plumbing Project Manager will strive to enhance their expertise and abilities consistently, ensuring the delivery of high-quality work in a safe manner, adhering to production schedules, and integrating UMC's Vision, Mission, and Core Values. 
 
Plumbing Project Manager Responsibilities and Duties (Essential Job Functions):
  • Oversee all plumbing aspects of multi-family new construction projects from planning through completion
  • Review plumbing contracts, bids, and SOVs with estimators; provide feedback to improve accuracy and processes
  • Manage procurement of major plumbing equipment and materials; monitor budgets and schedules
  • Facilitate QA/QC process; ensure field teams are completing proper documentation
  • Update and distribute job schedules and manpower requirements in coordination with field managers
  • Lead project planning, scheduling, cost estimation, and establishment of critical project objectives
  • Staff, manage, and support multi-family plumbing projects; communicate resource needs to management
  • Develop and implement project execution plans, including quality, safety, subcontracting, staffing, and procurement
  • Ensure projects comply with client requirements, company standards, building codes, and regulations
  • Negotiate change orders, back charges, claims, and contract settlements with management and subcontractors
  • Communicate project status, KPIs, risks, schedules, and costs to all stakeholders
  • Manage contract administration: RFIs, ASIs, submittals, RFQs, change management, closeouts, and claims mitigation
  • Gather monthly billing information; submit markups to accounting and approve completed billing for customers
  • Attend all required project meetings and maintain strong communication with estimators, field teams, and customers
 
Plumbing Project Manager Qualifications:
  • Must have a high school diploma, or General Equivalency Diploma, or GED.
  • Minimum 4 years as a licensed journeyman plumber; 10 years and/or relevant degree for senior-level positions
  • Must have 3-5 years of recent experience as a project manager in construction or Plumbing. Multi Family experience required.
  • Must support UMC's Vision, Mission, and Core Value statements, demonstrate a high degree of integrity and maintain the confidentiality of personnel and business information.
  • Possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, initiative, and communications skills.
  • Possess effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret operating manuals, plans, and applicable building codes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and possess the aptitude to learn and use additional computer software as needed, i.e., Field View, Bluebeam, Vista by Viewpoint.
  • Must be able to use hands and fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk; hear; sit; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; climb or balance; stand; walk; lift or move up to 50 pounds; work overhead and in cramped quarters. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be 21 years or older, have a valid driver's license, be able to pass a background check, physical and drug test.
