About The Role

We are seeking a Mechanical Buyer to join a manufacturing company’s Supply Chain team. This role is responsible for sourcing mechanical parts, hardware, and fabricated components critical to the design and production of complex electromechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Source, quote, negotiate, and issue POs for mechanical components, subassemblies, PCBs, cable/wire harnesses, and manufacturing services.
• Ensure materials and services meet regulatory and quality standards (FDA, ISO 13485).
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, including performance reviews and improvement initiatives.
• Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Production to support prototypes, manage part obsolescence, and implement ECOs.
• Perform cost analysis, make/buy decisions, and support cost-reduction initiatives.
• Monitor supplier performance in quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness.
• Expedite critical materials to meet production schedules.
• Participate in root cause and corrective action activities for supplier issues.
• Maintain purchasing records and ensure compliance with internal quality and regulatory systems.
• Prepare purchasing metrics, cost savings, and procurement reports.
• Support internal and external audits as needed.
