We are seeking an experienced PMP-certified IT Project Manager to lead a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) transition project within a large healthcare or public-sector environment. The Project Manager will oversee the full project lifecycle — from planning through implementation — ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and in alignment with business and technical objectives.
This role requires a proactive leader with strong communication, stakeholder management, and risk mitigation skills, and a proven track record in managing complex IT modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and manage all phases of the LIMS implementation project, including planning, design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and technical stakeholders to ensure alignment and timely delivery.
- Monitor and control project scope, schedule, and budget; manage risks, issues, and dependencies through a structured RAID log.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings, progress updates, and governance reviews.
- Prepare and deliver periodic project reports, dashboards, and executive summaries.
- Ensure all project documentation complies with PMO standards and change control processes.
- Lead project communications and ensure clear understanding of goals, milestones, and deliverables across all teams.
- Manage vendor relationships and coordinate system integration activities with internal IT and external partners.
- Support training, knowledge transfer, and post-implementation review.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7–9 years of IT project management experience, with at least 5 years as a PMP-certified Project Manager.
- Proven success managing large-scale enterprise software implementation or system modernization projects.
- Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) or other healthcare / public health IT systems strongly preferred.
- Strong skills in budgeting, scheduling, resource planning, risk management, and vendor coordination.
- Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Teams, and PMO reporting tools.
- Ability to work hybrid, reporting onsite two days per week.
- Experience with state or federal government projects.
- Knowledge of software quality assurance, data integration, or laboratory operations.
- Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Salary : $60 - $65
