Job Description – Automation Technician I
The Automation Technician I is responsible for running, maintaining, and fine-tuning programs on automated equipment used in circuit board assembly. This is primarily an entry-level technician role where you’ll learn to ensure machines run efficiently, products meet quality standards, and production processes stay on track.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor automated machinery for circuit board assembly.
- Adjust machines to meet quality standards and resolve production issues.
- Assist with machine maintenance, repairs, and prototypes as needed.
- Monitor processes and log results accurately.
- Fill in for Machine Operators when required.
- Support workflow in the department and follow all safety/quality procedures.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Electronics, Computer Programming, PC Repair, Automotive, CNC, or related field (experience may substitute).
- Mechanical aptitude: ability to take machines apart and reassemble.
- Knowledge of printed circuit board automation a plus.
- Intermediate computer skills (Excel, Word).
- Strong hand-eye coordination for working with small electronic parts.
- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English.
- Good communication skills to work in a team environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Stand or sit for long periods with minimal breaks.
- Perform repetitive tasks with hands and tools.
- Good close vision and ability to distinguish colors/fine details.
- Lift up to 40 lbs. regularly.
