Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards.
- Perform account reconciliations, including general ledger reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Enter journal entries into accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or PeopleSoft, maintaining accurate records of all transactions.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis and interpret financial reports to identify discrepancies or areas for improvement.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals, adjustments, and audit support.
- Support internal controls related to SOX compliance and contribute to ongoing process improvements within the finance department.
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; relevant internship experience is a plus.
- Basic understanding of accounting concepts such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and financial statement preparation.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or PeopleSoft; experience with Microsoft Excel for data analysis is essential.
- Knowledge of GAAP standards and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Exposure to governmental accounting, non-profit accounting, or public accounting environments is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
