Responsibilities
- Prepare comprehensive construction cost estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and bid documents.
- Utilize industry-standard estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to develop accurate pricing models.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to refine project scope and ensure estimates align with project goals.
- Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs and evaluate subcontractor bids to ensure competitive pricing and quality standards.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to optimize project budgets.
- Monitor cost control throughout the project lifecycle by tracking expenses against estimates and adjusting forecasts as needed.
- Assist in the development of bid proposals, ensuring all aspects of construction estimating and contract requirements are addressed thoroughly.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating within commercial projects, with a strong understanding of construction processes and site operations.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other estimating or project management software tools.
- Solid knowledge of construction management principles, contracts, and cost control techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to secure favorable terms.
- Hands-on construction site experience that provides insight into on-the-ground realities impacting estimates.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently under tight deadlines.
