MEP Superintendent

Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) Superintendent to lead and oversee the installation, coordination, and quality control of MEP systems on large-scale construction projects. This pivotal role ensures that all MEP activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, schedules, and budgets. As a key leader on-site, you will coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to deliver exceptional results while maintaining strict adherence to safety standards and construction best practices.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the daily operations of MEP construction activities on-site, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within scope.
• Coordinate with project management teams to develop detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or other construction management software.
• Review blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation of MEP systems aligned with design specifications.
• Oversee subcontractors and field personnel, providing supervision, guidance, and quality control to meet project standards.
• Monitor progress through regular site inspections, utilizing tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing and ensuring compliance with OSHA safety regulations.
• Manage procurement of materials and equipment, including tracking deliveries via HeavyBid or similar estimating tools.
• Conduct quality assurance inspections to verify installation accuracy and adherence to project plans; address issues promptly.
• Maintain detailed documentation of work progress, change orders, RFIs (Requests for Information), and safety reports.
• Collaborate with project schedulers to update timelines and address potential delays proactively.
• Ensure all work complies with contractual obligations related to contracts management and construction standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience in construction management with a focus on MEP systems; supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and construction estimating processes.
• Proficiency in construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or equivalent tools.
• Familiarity with project scheduling techniques including Primavera P6; experience with HeavyBid is a plus.
• Solid understanding of contracts administration and management of subcontractors.
• Hands-on site experience in heavy construction environments; ability to read technical schematics accurately.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and best practices for construction site safety protocols.
• Ability to operate testing equipment such as ohmmeters effectively for electrical system verification.
• Excellent management skills with the ability to supervise teams effectively while maintaining high safety standards.
• Strong communication skills for coordinating between different teams and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
