We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are accounted for. This role requires a strong understanding of construction management and the ability to negotiate effectively with contractors and suppliers. The Estimator will play a crucial role in supporting project management efforts and contributing to the overall success of our construction initiatives.
Must have knowledge of Commercial Roof Systems. Such as single-ply membrane, TPO, PVC, Modified Bitumen, Standing Seam Metal Roofs.
Duties
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to assess project requirements and constraints.
- Utilize Bluebeam software for takeoffs and estimating processes.
- Conduct site visits to gather information on existing conditions and project scope.
- Develop detailed cost control measures to monitor expenses throughout the project lifecycle.
- Negotiate prices with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive bidding.
- Prepare and present detailed estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, contracts, and changes in scope throughout the project duration.
- Assist in building strong relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is essential.
- Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies is preferred.
- Proficiency in using estimating software such as Bluebeam is highly desirable.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract negotiations.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in cost calculations and reporting.
